Blue Helmet is a dramedy set in 1996, when Slovakia sends its soldiers to a UN peacekeeping
mission in Vukovar, Croatia.
The main character is a young man who leaves for the Balkans hoping to gain time and
distance from his problems at home. Amid the hardships of military service, cynicism, and
the absurdity of war, he discovers that real courage lies not in escape, but in the ability
to take responsibility – for himself, his comrades, and his family.
The film offers an original mix of humor and drama, opening the topic of Slovakia’s
participation in foreign missions, rarely explored in Slovak cinema.

The series Borderland Treasures explores historical events, personalities, landmarks, and phenomena
that have left their mark on the Czech-Slovak border region and shaped the lives of many
generations.
Borderland Treasures is a 12-part documentary series uncovering hidden stories, cultural
phenomena, and historical events from the Czech-Slovak borderlands. Through interviews with
experts, research, historical sources, and authentic locations, the series offers insight
into what has shaped the region and influenced lives on both sides of the border.
Each episode focuses on a different theme — from traces of Roman presence, through the
development of Great Moravia, medieval fortifications, or the defense against Turkish
invasions, to the secrets of highwaymen and the modern heritage of industry, architecture,
and viticulture. Among the topics explored are the works of Dušan Jurkovič, the “culture of
slowness,” and the influence of Tomáš Baťa in border regions.
The series was produced in collaboration with Czech Television (TS Ostrava) and RTVS,
supported by the INTERREG V-A program and the European Regional Development Fund. The result
is a multidisciplinary view combining academic knowledge with regional spirit in a beautiful
and engaging audiovisual form.
A romantic comedy about Lukáš, whose mother suffers from a serious heart condition and has only a
few days left to live.
To fulfill his mother’s greatest wish, Lukáš asks his neighbor, a
former stripper named Natália — who happens to be five months pregnant — to visit his mother in the
hospital and pretend that she is carrying his child. Unexpectedly, a heart donor is found, and after
the operation, Lukáš’s mother recovers. However, since she must avoid any emotional stress, Lukáš
and Natália are forced to continue pretending to be a couple.
What could possibly happen when you get caught up in one little “innocent” lie?
The
main hero, Lukáš (Kryštof Hádek), has no shortage of women — his problem is that very few
share his passion for space and astronautics, which has always been his number one priority.
Lukáš wants to make his sick mother happy one last time, as her greatest wish is to have
grandchildren. So he comes up with a crazy idea: he convinces his outspoken, pregnant
neighbor and former stripper, Natália (Kristína Svarinská), to pretend to be his fiancée and
the mother of his unborn child.
But as fate would have it, Lukáš’s mother
miraculously recovers. Now she must not find out the truth under any circumstances, and
Lukáš and Natália are forced to keep up the act — pretending to be a loving couple. As they
get more and more tangled in their own game, a chain reaction of misunderstandings and comic
situations begins. One by one, family members, friends, coworkers, and pretty much everyone
else get drawn into their web of lies.

A documentary series about life in the Czech-Slovak borderlands.
The 12-part documentary series People on the Border takes viewers to unique areas along the
Czech-Slovak frontier, inviting them into a world where life flows a bit differently.
People on the Border is a 12-part documentary project created in collaboration between RTVS
and Czech Television (TS Ostrava), with support from the INTERREG V-A operational
program.
The series brings viewers to places where the border is not just a geographic line but a
living, ever-changing space where culture, nature, and everyday life intertwine.
Each episode presents one theme — from working the land, tree cultivation, and the
preservation of traditions, to spirituality, faith, and humanity’s relationship with nature
and territory. The stories of people on both sides of the border reveal not only differences
in lifestyles but also hidden connections that unite the landscape.
The aim of the series is to strengthen awareness of the border region’s cultural and natural
heritage and to inspire audiences to discover places that have the power to speak.

The series maps exemplary productions across Slovak theatre — drama, opera, ballet, alternative, and
pantomime. The creators take part in the entire process of shaping a stage performance, guiding
viewers through the thinking of directors, dramaturges, set designers, costume designers, and many
other theatre professions, including actors. It also reveals the backstage of various theatres and
their ambitions to succeed in the vibrant media landscape.
The Birth of Theatre offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at Slovak stages and brings
viewers closer to the process of creating a theatre performance — from the first idea
through rehearsals to the premiere. Viewers witness how a performance is born, what happens
before the actors step on stage, and what decisions, doubts, and small miracles shape the
final form.
Each episode captures a different facet of Slovak theatre — from drama and opera to ballet
and experimental forms. The goal is to uncover the inner world of theatre creation — the
work of directors, dramaturges, designers, and actors — and to show that theatre is always a
collective miracle.
The series was created on the occasion of the Year of Slovak Theatre (2020) in co-production
with RTVS and ART4. During the pandemic, five episodes were produced, with new ones added in
2022.
Renowned Slovak directors and creators participated in the series, including Jaroslav
Vojtek, Juraj Lehotský, Juraj Nvota, Laco Kraus, Ján Sabol, and Peter Kováč, bringing
diverse artistic approaches and poetics to the project.

The viewer experiences the essence of a single day in the company of four protagonists who speak
about one phenomenon — a natural part of their lives. A look at the world through fundamental
elements, objects, and realities, seen through the eyes of people for whom these phenomena have
become the essence of their world.
One Day follows a strict dramaturgical concept: four characters, one day, one phenomenon. The
format is an “open documentary” — it keeps the same four protagonists while shifting the
perspective through various aspects of the chosen phenomenon.
Viewers enter the protagonists’ lives on a single day, revealing their relationships,
routines, habits, and coincidences. With this playful yet profound “micro-story” approach,
the series captures how even ordinary events and objects carry meaning in people’s
lives.
The project reflects an attention to detail — to objects, processes, and phenomena we take
for granted — and asks the question: what hides behind an ordinary day?
